Trilogy Orlando Billiards Club is looking for a
few good men and women to play the other
sport of kings, that’s right We’re talking about
“Shooting Pool”.
Trilogy Orlando is truly an amazing place. It's a very active, over- 55 resort community with amazing facilities. Many activities offered by KW or member clubs involve chasing a little ball. For example, Pickleball, Tennis, Bocce, Golf just to name practically all of them.
But there is one sport that differs from all the rest - Shooting Pool. Pool is an elegant sport relying upon a bit of skill, a bit of luck, a bit of
strategy and did I mention luck? Shooting Pool does not involve a knee pounding chase around a hot, humid outdoor court or trudging across acres and acres of grass until you pass out from heat exhaustion. Shooting Pool is a sophisticated sport played in year round air-conditioned comfort. Instead of chasing a small ball, you gently caress a little white ball with a stick. This ball in turn hits other balls and eventually with a bit of practice and a bit of luck some of these balls land in a pocket. If you get enough balls in the pockets you win. As for chasing a ball, all you really need to do is casually walk around a table roughly 4x8 feet.
This is a sport you can play by yourself or with one or more opponents. This is one sport where being old, tired, lazy, out-of- shape and totally uncoordinated doesn’t matter. I can personally testify to this. Anyone can shoot pool, including you.
Afraid you will embarrass yourself? Not to worry, embarrassing yourself is a fundamental part of the game. We invite people of all skill levels or even no skills at all to come out and shoot pool with us. We even offer FREE private lessons by appointment. So, don’t be afraid to expand your comfort zone and try out a new sport. What, you say you used to shoot pool in college but life intervened and you gave it up? Well, now is the perfect time to come on back to this truly unique sport. By shooting pool regularly, you will improve eye hand coordination, learn to think fast on your feet and learn the art of telling tall tales about “That incredible shot you made” when no one was around to see it.
Trilogy Billiards Club hosts 8-ball on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00pm until closing in the Crow’s Nest. (It’s the room down the hall with the pool tables in it).
